Position:Senior Staff Accountant

Position Summary:Permanent, Full Time

We are seeking a proactive financial professional to become a key member of the Leadership Team. This is a pivotal position of vital importance, requiring a person who will play a decisive role in the growth of the company.

Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the company. Your advice and counsel may be sought by the Corporate CFO and the Executive Leadership Team on all financial matters as they relate to operational performance and long-term strategy. As a dynamic, forward-thinking person you will accept the challenge of being a key business partner in strategic planning, outlining the financial impact of proposed projects and programs. Your current knowledge of the manufacturing industry sector, coupled with an ability to conduct in-depth financial analysis, provides you with the insight required to review operations and recommend changes that will lead to new opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities will include:
• Financial statement preparation and management reporting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Cash flow reporting, monitoring and analysis
• Year-end external accountant coordination
• General ledger maintenance
• AP and AR reconciliations
• Bank Account reconciliations
• Period end accounting and reporting
• Journal entries, accounts payable, HST returns and other general accounting duties as required
• Development and implementation of internal processes and controls
• Working paper files
• Sales and inventory reports
• Fixed asset reporting
• Staff management
• Correspondence and management of various stakeholders
• Strategic planning
• Special projects

As a dynamic, forward-thinking person you will be responsible for implementing and directing fiscal policies and procedures throughout the organization. This will include overseeing all financial functions, including annual budgeting, treasury and financing, financial forecasting and reporting, planning operational and capital expenditures, tax planning and reporting, and statistical analysis. You will also supervise the administrative team responsible for handling compensation, benefits, and payroll functions.

Along with superior analytical skills you are adept at communicating at all levels within the organization. From providing counsel to the Corporate CFO to working collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team, from motivating employees in finance/ administration to establishing productive relationships with financial business partners, you are a consummate communicator. In all your interpersonal dealings you exhibit integrity and the desire to promote teamwork among all business units and departments. Superior organizational skills, exceptional problem resolution skills, and a strong work ethic are critical to this key position.

To succeed in this demanding role you will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a senior financial leader along with an Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA preferred). You are able to see the big picture while having fine attention to detail and willingness to “pitch in” to get any job done. A strong interest in learning and, comfort working in a fast paced environment are required. Experience using Syteline and Microsoft Office is an asset. You will also have knowledge of accounting and other financial software programs. You have to work with our Mexico plant, so bilingual preferred. Weekly visit to Mexico required.
