Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks including preparation of individual, trust, corporate and partnership tax returns, tax research and compliance functions, as well as having excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidate must possess superior communication skills. This position will participate in using revenue generating tax concepts (e.g. cost segregation studies, enterprise zone credits, R&D credits, etc.) and should have a strong interest in increasing practice development skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills in order to support partners and staff in addressing issues and providing well-supported solutions. Strong technology skills are required (i.e. Lacerte, Practice Solutions, Word, Excel, Outlook and database applications).


* Willingness to learn and be a team player

* Assist tax manager with tax research and compliance functions

* Assist with developing and implementing revenue generating concepts

* Prepare and review tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, etc.)

* Assures compliance with federal, state and local tax laws and regulations

* Conducts research and planning according to applicable tax laws and regulations

* Prepare sales tax audits, annual tax forms, projections and tax notices

* Minimizes tax liability through sound and informed application of laws and regulations

* Maintains tax records, related schedules and related reports

* Typically requires exercising independent judgment

* Other assignments as required


* Minimum 3 to 5 years experience

* Bachelor's in Accounting required

* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) plus

* Master's degree in Tax is a plus

* Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures

* Proficient in Lacerte, RIA, BNA as well as other accounting software

* Excellent verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills

* Strong leadership skills
