The Administrative Assistant, Fundraising/Development plays a significant role in ensuring the Department’s Goals and Objectives are achieved by providing foundational support and coordination. As part of the Resource Development team, the Assistant provides excellent donor relations/customer service, department administrative support and donor database entry.

• 3+ years of experience providing donor relations and administrative support required
• Experience providing customer service in an office setting highly desired
• Previous experience with non-profit fundraising preferred
• Experience work with a social or human service agency is a preferred
• Experience in managing relationships with institutional donors is a plus
• Experience working in deadline-driven environments
• Proficiency in common word processing, desktop publishing, and database software applications as well as the ability to learn new computer systems.
• Prior experience working with eTapestry is a plus
• Ability to set and adhere to deadlines and establish priorities
• Effective organizational skills and the capacity to simultaneously handle multiple activities with changing priorities
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment, handle multiple assignments
• Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimum supervision
• Ability to take initiative, and follow tasks through to completion
• Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities
• Ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals and reports
• Stellar communication and editing skills are a plus
• Solid team player who is able to work well collaboratively and professionally on projects
• Must be culturally sensitive and able to work with a multicultural client/customer population; ability to work in a non-judgmental manner and foster positive growth/outcomes; able to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries
• Responsible for providing primary administrative support for the department and Director which includes but not limited to file maintenance, correspondence, scheduling meetings and preparing meeting packets.
• Absolute discretion in handling and maintenance of confidential donor files
• Synchronize with Development Department and Finance Department to properly process and document gifts and payments
• Provide back-up support for department events, which may include maintenance of RSVP lists, event registration, direct mail campaigns and collateral materials.
• Manages campaign documents/charts and generates acknowledgment letters.
• Provides support services for committee meetings, workshops and special cultivation/recognition activities including; taking minutes, coordinating meeting logistics, and providing up to date materials.
• Provide excellent customer service to donors by linking them to the appropriate resources within BSC when necessary.
• Assists with other fundraising related tasks/projects as needed by the Development Department.
