Preventative Maintenance Coordinator

Essential Functions: Perform existing P.M.'s, generate work orders, and report on work performed. Assess P.M. frequencies and procedures, and make recommendations for changes so that optimum equipment availability is attained. Write new PM's for existing and new equipment. Use various sources of information such as downtime history, backlog information, history files, and input from Line Operators, Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, Engineers, and Improvement Teams to continue improving effectiveness of PM's. Initiate the review and agreement process for PM changes with the Planner/Scheduler and Maintenance Supervisor/Team Manager. Receive and set up spare parts for new equipment. Make recommendations for quantity and type of spare parts to stock, based on analysis of P.M. parts usage. Update spare parts catalogue for existing PM's. Check dimensions and specifications, and make sketches of critical parts serviced through the P.M. program. Train and observe Production and Maintenance Personnel on the safe and proper execution of PM's. Coordinate and supervise P.M. contract services. Keep informed and promote the use of new Predictive and Preventive Maintenance procedures. Coordinate and supervise all Predictive Maintenance activities. Ensure all related data from PdM activities are entered and updated daily. Monitor trends of P.M./PdM generated work orders, costs, and downtime. Provide communications and feedback on status of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs and procedures through presentations and planning meetings.
Perform routine and/or emergency maintenance work as required by supervision. Provide feedback to mechanic, electrician or operator on correctness of PM data entered daily, maintain a clean work area and operate in a safe manner wearing the required safety equipment. Continuously work towards improving all of the processes associated with the job. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required or requested. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: High School Diploma, General Equivalence Degree and an Associate's Degree, completion of technical training program in a maintenance trade equivalent to sixty hours of college credit, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in a maintenance trade or a combination of the three is required.
Work experience that represents Maintenance Mechanic 1st Class skill in building trades or related areas requiring extended training and/or experience and considerable practical knowledge in a trade or technical area, or other skills requiring similar levels of training. Skill at this level normally requires six years of experience within the trade.
Skills: Skills in the proper use of test equipment, hand and power tools, diagnosing and trouble:shooting equipment malfunctions and systems failures are required. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Supervisory skills, ability to motivate others to effective action, and administrative ability are required. Computer literacy is required : advance user of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access and MS Office project. Experience with aSAP, CMMSsystem, including data entry and scheduling, is preferred. Team player, owner of basic mechanical and electrical skills. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
