Position Overview

The Program Coordinator is an integral member of the Triage Cancer team, providing administrative, communications, and programmatic support. This is a 20-hour per week, part-time, non-exempt, W-2 position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, collegial environment, have a willingness to learn new skills, and be a self-starter who can multitask. Primary Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

Assisting in marketing and communications efforts on behalf of Triage Cancer, including:
Using and developing content and strategies for social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.)
Drafting content for and designing of electronic newsletters
Drafting website content and updating website
Drafting press releases and posting notices on community calendars for Triage Cancer events occurring nationally
Drafting fundraising appeals and grants applications
Promoting Triage Cancer services by engaging in grassroots community outreach efforts, such as building relationships with businesses, community advocacy organizations, faith-based entities, and other potential audiences


Assisting in administrative tasks, including:
Operating office machines, such as phones, photocopiers, scanners, printers, iPads, and computers
Maintaining and updating filing, supply inventory, and databases
Opening and routing incoming mail, answering correspondence, and preparing outgoing mail
Completing and mailing bills, contracts, policies, invoices, or checks and conducting basic bookkeeping data entry
Computing, recording, and proofreading data and other information, such as records or reports
Conducting research to support operations, including cancer-related legislative issues
Typing, formating, proofreading, and editing correspondence and other documents
Managing calendars, and arranging appointments and travel


Assisting in coordinating and executing educational and fundraising events (including in-person and webinar events) and campaigns, such as logistics, registration, promotion, etc.
Promoting Triage Cancer educational events and campaigns to stakeholders, partners, and the larger cancer community
Providing trade show services, such as staffing a booth, giving away incentive items or gift bags, conducting surveys, and directing traffic to the booth

Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

Attending an accredited college or university; or Bachelor's degree
Strong communications and problem solving skills
Ability to write website content, blogs, newsletters, reports, and business correspondence
Excellent customer service skills, with professional demeanor in person, in writing, and on the phone
Ability to work as part of a team and independently, follow instructions, and be organized
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, social media platforms, and the internet
Event planning or production experience, a plus
Knowledge of html, a plus
Graphic Design (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) experience, a plus

Additional Requirements

Attend trainings as necessary
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Valid California Class C Driver License and valid automobile liability insurance, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
Ability to travel to events throughout the United States as necessary

Position Structure

This position reports to the Triage Cancer CEO. This position is a 20-hour a week, part-time, non-exempt, W-2 position. This position may increase in hours over time.
