Senior IT Security Engineer sought by Fox Entertainment Group, LLC. in Los Angeles to apply background and experience in network security, firewalls, loadbalancing, design and troubleshooting, and Internet environments to providedata network design work, implementation, documentation, and troubleshootingwith particular focus on firewalls, security, and network forensics for theEnterprise Media Framework Team. Responsible for technical management of advanced networking hardware andcircuits. Provide network servicessupport to application developers, end users and other operationalpersonnel. Provide group design andproduct recommendations and configurations. Resolve client business network problems through research, networkinstallation and customization, network administration and network managementsupport. These systems are usedworldwide for multiple Business Units (BU) to deliver both television andtheatrical content with extremely tight SLAs. Work closely with these BUs, both with their technical support teams aswell as their managers and executives, to bring resilient, scalable designs andquick resolutions to any network challenges that may arise. Responsible for all technical aspects ofnetwork implementations with design guidance from the corporate network engineeringteam in Los Angeles. Specific dutiesinclude: 1) Provide local and wide area network and network security supportresponsibilities which include acting as subject matter expert on networksecurity and firewall policy analysis, QA, and review; responsible for theoperation and maintenance of Fox's datacenter firewalls; performing network andsecurity hardware and software maintenance; ensuring that standards aremaintained for firewalls and other network edge device version updates &patches; interfacing with vendors and Fox partners to ensure security ismaintained and integrated into all network connectivity activities; producingand interpreting network security analysis reports; teaming with EnterpriseSecurity Services to implement and operate security policies and procedures; andproviding, on an as-needed basis, 4th level escalation for network outages andapplication troubleshooting. 2) Networkdesign responsibilities which include consulting with customers to identifydata and network security requirements; preparing and updating network securitydocumentation; designing and configuring network security implementations; andassessing new and relevant networking and security technologies. 3) Design review responsibilities whichinclude maintaining security design requirements documentation with accurateSCDS information; participating as a Subject Matter Expert in architectural andsecurity design reviews; and making recommendations on existing projects toimprove network security. 4) Administrationduties which include communicating security plans, status and security issuesto management on a regular basis; reporting security activities through timetracking system; mentoring other network engineers with security bestpractices; participating in project and activity tracking processes;participating in the change control process; and continuously updating andimproving skills and networking knowledge through training and self-study. 5) Production support duties which includeserving as an escalation point for network and security issues within IT; andperforming other duties as required.
