The Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, located in Pasadena, California and is set to admit its first class in 2019, offers more than a conventional medical education. This position will be working as a part of an extremely dynamic team of professionals supporting all aspects of the School of Medicine and the creation of the financial infrastructure, process, and procedures for the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine. The team works from an interdependent model of practice and we are looking for someone who thrives in a highly challenging role within a high functioning team:based environment. By joining the team that is designing and implementing the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, you will have the opportunity of a lifetime to create a medical school that will educate physicians for the 21st century and beyond and be a catalyst for change in medical education. The Director of Accreditation maintains the primary line of communication and effective accreditation and regulatory agency relationship between the institution and the accrediting/licensing bodies, serving as the internal expert for all related matters. This individual may work in concert with consultants from the field. For purposes of the program accreditation of Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), this individual is a senior faculty member knowledgeable about the developing medical school and the plans for its educational program. This individual should be able to ensure participation by members of the administration and faculty and be familiar with LCME survey visit processes, and the steps and processes to gain and maintain Full Accreditation. For purposes of the regional and institutional accreditation of Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), this individual is a senior member of the administration knowledgeable about the developing graduate school and the plans for its educational programs. This individual should be able to ensure participation by members of the administration and faculty and be familiar with the steps and sequences of WASC accreditation and the processes required to gain and maintain WASC Initial Accreditation. Encourage and demonstrate the importance of positive cooperation, collaboration and teamwork in administration. Foster interdisciplinary participation in education and service across Kaiser Permanente. Foster and encourage respect for all health care disciplines among faculty and staff. Demonstrate leadership by example in service to the program and community. Essential Responsibilities: : LCME program accreditation, expectations and responsibilities include demonstrated abilities to answer questions during Data Collection Instrument (DCI) preparation : Assign specific questions/sections of the DCI to individuals with the appropriate institutional knowledge : Ensure factual accuracy and typographical/grammatical clarity in the DCI, Ensure that each aspect of multi:part DCI questions are fully:addressed : Synthesize all narrative DCI responses into a cohesive, factually and stylistically:consistent document that accurately reflects the institution : Coordinate the activities of self
