Position Title: Intake Specialist
Department: Intake
Reports To: Intake Manager, Shift Supervisor, Weekend Shift Lead FLSA Status: Non:Exempt
Fulltime, 40 hours per payroll week
General Summary: Determine eligibility of persons to for treatment within rehabilitation center.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Answer phone inquiries regarding program. Assess potential clients or their referrals.
2. Interview benefits recipients at specified intervals to certify their eligibility for continuing benefits.
3. Interpret and explain information such as eligibility requirements, application details, payment methods, and applicants legal rights.
4. Provide treatment recommendations within The Discovery House. TDH is a compassionate center and our primary responsibility is to provide assistance to all callers. If a caller is not an appropriate fit for TDH, intake coordinator is to provide appropriate outbound referrals to established referral sources.
5. Compile, record, and evaluate personal and financial data to verify completeness and accuracy, and to determine eligibility status.
6. Track and document in CRM database potential patients from initial call through to admission.
7. Keep records of assigned cases, and prepare required reports for timely follow:up as needed to ensure admission.
8. Identify and report new referral source opportunities.
9. Performance measured by the number of inquiries handled and admissions to the facility.
10. Marketing projects, revising documents, and satisfaction surveys.
11. Other duties as assigned by Intake Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Customer and Personal Service : Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Psychology : Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
Active listening : giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Speaking : Talking to others to convey information effectively.
Critical Thinking : using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
