Warehouse Operator (Swing)

Perform all of the duties described in Levels I and II and the following: Operate yard equipment, pass proficiency test covering all operator functions including operating the Dispatcher Warehouse Management Systems; perform inventory control functions, meet minimum time requirement and pass skills test demonstrating complete understand of all operator job functions to the satisfaction of the warehouse leader and supervisor. Maintain knowledge and proficiency in the following Level I and Level II job functions: Order Picking, Put:Away, Unloading, Loading, Order Make:Up and Palletizer. Must be able to inspect, enter, exit and operate the following equipment: Yard Goat, Forklift, Shrink Wrap pallets, Man:Up, and Palletizer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
:Operator order:picking equipment and fork truck to assemble orders; operate hoist and crane when needed; yard jockey to move trailers, load and thread stretch:wrap machine. (in use approximately 75 of daily work)
:Order Picking: Move picked material from storage locations to the floor. Make up pallets in manner prescribed by customer. Properly label pallets. Remove empty pallets and stretch:wrap from racks. Make inventory adjustments as necessary. Perform odd lot consolidation when necessary (40 of monthly work)
:Order Assembly: Verify quantity, SKU and lot of tile through visual inspection. Pick bulk storage items. Stretch:wrap all outgoing pallets, load trailer and adjust loading pattern to properly distribute weight in trailer. Communicate pertinent issues, including safety concerns to drivers (20 of monthly work)
:Receiving: Verify quantity, SKU and lot on each incoming pallet. Coordinate the receipt of ICT's with the lead and the DOT. Transfer all incoming pallets to the appropriate end rack or storage location. Manually separate mixed SKU incoming pallets and properly store material in designated racks. (2 of monthly work)
:Inventory Control: Conduct cycle counts (2:3 of monthly work)
:Operate palletizer production line: check on equipment and supplies (pallets, forklift, stretch:wrap, tag stock, chutes). Load pallets into chute. Monitor machine. Perform troubleshooting, which may include physically removing boxes from pallets. (10 of monthly work)
:Operate dispatcher system (computer) to perform basic stock inquiry functions, and operator radio data terminal (in use approximately15 of daily work)
:Participate in safety training and receive instruction through hands:on demonstration and/or classroom lecture, as required (approximately 4 of weekly work)
:Maintain a clean work area (approximately 6 of daily work)
Non:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:Perform pre:use check on all mobile warehouse equipment (change batteries, refill propane tanks). Perform preventative maintenance and/or arrange for maintenance on lift trucks, order:picking equipment and yard jockey. (approximately 3 of daily work)
:Conduct pre:inspection of trailer prior to loading, checking for safety and cleanliness. Check that dock lock is turn on and/or trailer wheels are chocked (approximately 2 of daily work)
:Use email(approximately 7 of monthly work)
Supervisory Responsibilities
Order assembly problems are reported to the Warehouse Leader and Distribution Office Technician (DOT); Unsafe acts or conditions or problems are reported to the Leader and Supervisor. Quality issues, damage or shortages are reported to the proper production operators. Warehouse Operator III is supervised by Residential Business Unit Production Supervisor, and works under leadership of Warehouse Leader
