Capital Group's AML/Privacy Compliance team is a critical resource for our business area assessments of risk. Our team continuously educates, collaborates, makes recommendations, and consults with various business groups to ensure compliance in areas of Anti:Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), fraud, cybersecurity, identity theft and privacy.
As a Compliance Specialist based in our Los Angeles, CA office, you will play an important role consulting with American Funds Services Group (AFSG), Private Client Services (PCS), Institutional Services, Private Equity, and SMA on issues relating to any potential money laundering, terrorist financing, identity theft, fraud, cyber incident, privacy breach, and OFAC match.
-Oversee screening and transaction monitoring performed in the business groups and research and prepare regulatory filings (SARs etc.)
-Respond to referrals and questions relating to identity theft and data loss prevention events
-Facilitate meetings with business groups and participate in projects relating to changes in regulatory requirements and audit or examination findings.
-Assist with risk assessments with various business lines for AML and OFAC
-Perform model validation of various systems used for screening and transaction monitoring
-3+ years of experience in a legal, compliance, transactional or risk management/audit function
-Demonstrates high degree of intellectual curiosity with financial regulations, an ability to learn on:the:fly, exercise sound business judgment, work collaboratively, and engage in critical thinking and analysis
-Demonstrates high level of time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with integrity and ownership of work
-Bachelor's degree required
-Certified Anti:Money Laundering Specialist designation is a plus
