Programs desired included, but are not limited to music (DJ, guitar, drums, and voice), film, contemporary/urban art, dance, ceramics, theater, fashion, jewelry design , photography, makeup artistry, computer graphics and design . The Enrichment Coach will work with up to twenty students at a time, at the designated school site. This position reports to the Site Coordinator. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Responsibilities Supervise and maintain at least twenty students per class Maintain required student enrollment and attendance to meet grant requirements and maximum participation throughout the duration of program Work in collaboration with the afterschool Site Coordinator and other supervisory staff Develop and maintain positive relationships with school staff, parents, and participants Conduct outreach techniques to promote enrichment program and maximize students participation Facilitate and supervise activities with groups of twenty students Represent the mission of the YPI at every site Supervise all participants to ensure a safe learning environment and organized program Must maintain accurate daily attendance records Attend weekly and/or bi-weekly staff meetings and trainings Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning. Plan and prepare students for a culminating event to showcase their work Organizes special events/activities to showcase students work to community partners Prepare and implement educational activity plans aligned to project based learning and common core by the established deadlines Collaborate with afterschool staff and school teachers to increase student academic success and quality program Adhere to workplace safety guidelines Adhere to tutor/student boundaries as outlined in Code of Conduct Attend required staff meetings, trainings and events on and off-site Must wear YPI uniform while on duty Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma. Certification, training and/or work experience in specified program. Must be currently enrolled in college, having completed or working toward the completion of Freshman English, College math (Algebra II) and/or equivalent math credits Must complete a written English/Math assessment at the time of the review Must provide college or university transcripts demonstrating fulfillment of English and math requirements or that they are in progress Minimum one year paid or volunteer experience in mentoring/youth environment Must have effective communication skills Previous experience with elementary, middle and/or high school students Ability to work independently, self-starter, enthusiastic, flexible Must have access to reliable transportation to arrive to work site at scheduled time consistently If applicable, will be required to provide proof of current California driver license, acceptable driving record (current DMV H6 printout), and current liability auto insurance. Ability to work with varied populations Elementary School, Middle School, High School Strong organizational skills and deadline oriented Must pass a criminal background check (Livescan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment with children Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) prior to beginning employment dated within 60 days prior to start date Must complete CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment Some evenings and/or weekends may be required Bilingual Spanish a plus Part-time, primarily after school, hours vary per school site.
