The Meetings and Events Team (METS) provides Capital Groups individual lines of business (internal) with meeting planning consultation and advisory services. Our vision is to be trusted advisors with global business insight and industry expertise who design strategic and innovative meetings and events. The team oversees 350+ meetings and events annually, which include company management meetings, research trips, internal/external board meetings, retreats, strategy, recognition, teambuilding and milestone events.
As a Meetings and Events Planner based in Los Angeles or Irvine, you will be responsible for full:cycle planning and execution of programs in primarily the United States, Europe and Asia. The Planners primary role is to partner with business stakeholders and drive results by executing flawless events. Program objectives are aligned with Capital Groups overall mission, vision and business priorities.
Facilitate planning and strategy meetings related to program content development and objective setting
Sourcing, site selection and research
Attendee management and communication, BEO creation, onsite meeting execution and oversight
Budget management/payment reconciliation and post:event reporting and analysis
Special projects and process improvements
Minimum 3 years of meeting planning/architecture and event design experience required; exposure to financial services and/or hospitality industry strongly preferred
Willingness to travel 20:25 and attend evening and weekend events
A creative and innovative thinker with strong problem:solving, consulting and influencing skills
Strong business acumen, relationship management skills and commitment to providing superior customer service
Strong attention to detail, organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
Bachelors degree preferred; CMP desired
