The Marketing Group is part of North American Distribution (NAD) and drives excellence in marketing to serve the needs of our clients. Marketing develops strategies for positioning Capital Group in the marketplace, and communicate messages designed to share our point of view and differentiate us in a crowded and highly competitive field. The Senior Marketing Specialist, will report to the Manager, Advisor Sold Business Marketing within our NAD Marketing Team. The successful candidate will demonstrate full knowledge in their assigned area and operate both as a sole contributor and within a matrixed team.
In addition to developing, creating, implementing and evaluating client and product marketing strategies and plans, they will serve as a lead owning go:to:market strategies focused on the American Funds Target Date Series retirement solution. Another critical aspect of this role is having a thorough understanding of and the ability to develop and deliver impactful messages to increase engagement with multiple target audiences such as financial intermediaries, plan sponsors and record keepers. The Senior Specialist must be able to work closely with senior product and distribution (sales) leaders in addition to working cross:functionally with Traditional Institutional and Insurance Business marketing teams to ensure plan and messaging alignment to common target audiences.
Collaborate and partner with the internal business lines to develop marketing strategies and plans
Recommend specific activities throughout the marketing funnel to build awareness, consideration and trial for new and ongoing foundational initiatives
Lead the end:to:end process for plan development and execution including: situational assessment, strategy development, initiating the project brief, leading the project team (writers, designers, marketing research, and sales team), executing the project, evaluating the results, and making recommendations based on analysis
Developand managerelationships across the organization, including distribution leadership, internal and external sales, sales operations, sales initiatives, national accounts, marketing research, strategy/innovation, marketing communications, and business intelligence, to deepen knowledge about the advisor sold/institutional retirement segment
Collaborateclosely with digital marketing to support a digitally enabled sales force and explore innovative ways to build deeper engagement with primary target audiences via digital channels (social, video, and web)
Minimum 4:5 years of marketing experience, Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
Proven track record of developing and running successful marketing campaigns
Knowledge of marketing processes and disciplines including database management, social media/digital marketing, direct marketing and lead generation
Ability to lead and manage complex projects across multiple functions, tea
