Visiting a RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL meeting can be a life-changing event. It happened to me. And it has happened to thousands and thousands of others.

I often wonder what if I HADN'T had the good fortune to find RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL ten years ago?

Would I have kept going the way I was going? Would I still be battling depression and anxiety, which were my everyday emotional states? Would my husband and I still be in those yelling matches? Would we still have those long periods of silence in which we refused to talk to one another, fuming with grudges that we held against one another? Would this wonderful man now be out of my life? And would I still be in emotional deadlocks with my children, and not have the peaceful relationship we share today?

When you visit a RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL meeting, your life doesn't change immediately. But after several meetings, as you begin to employ the RI Method in the various situations in your life, You become more aware of what is going on internally within yourself. You notice your physical and emotional responses to things. You become aware of your habitual thoughts and your automatic responses to life's situations. You notice that certain habitual thoughts stir up emotional distress.

My awareness has expanded as a result of my practice of the RI Method. I don't react as I formerly did. And I am less likely to stir up other people by my responses. I don't make an issue of everything. I am more tolerant of other perspectives. And when I changed and responded differently to other people, other people responded differently to me.

RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL offers a systematic approach to changing thinking habits, incorporating what is now called Cognitive Behavioral Training. With RI training, we learn to recognize and avoid the thinking traps that lead to distressing emotional states. Instead, we learn there are many ways to interpret and react to the events in our lives, and we learn to choose alternatives that keep us in emotional control and allow us to function at a higher level.

Ann Landers speaking of Recovery, Inc. (now RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL) "Their record of success is phenomenal."

If you are unfamiliar with our organization and are hesitant to contact us—we invite you to learn more about us so you can be assured that you are connecting with a very reputable non-profit organization--highly regarded within the mental health community. We encourage you to look us up on the web using our name “Recovery International” or our founder’s name, “Dr. Abraham Low.” You will find us on web sites such as Wikipedia.org., for instance.

WE REQUEST A $4.00 OR MORE DONATION FROM MEETING ATTENDEES, BUT THE DONATION IS NOT REQUIRED. WHATEVER YOU CAN DONATE IS APPRECIATED.

People are welcome to drop in at any selected RECOVERY INTERNATIONALmeeting and just observe. It is not an on-going class but a practice session--learning and practicing the RI Method. People are invited to attend at their own convenience. When individuals feel the need to get the self-help guidance, support and structure of an RI Meeting, it is out there for them with no further obligation.
