This position is part of a team that is responsible for preparing, submitting and managing various regulatory permits and compliance matters. The Department develops, maintains, and communicates effective environmental programs for the organization. The position performs work that is varied and assists in a wide range of routine assignments for the EH&S Department under close supervision.

• Specializes in regulatory compliance for Sentinel Peak Resources assets including air emissions, water / stormwater management, material management, land use, occupational health & safety, fish & wildlife, and other regulated activities associated with oil & gas production in California.
• Coordinates with operations staff and contractors on a regular basis and particularly in the event of a spill, release, or other reportable event. Communicates with affected regulators on behalf of Sentinel Peak Resources, accompanies regulators on site visits, and files applicable paperwork.
• Trained EH&S Specialists participate in EH&S on-call rotation, available around-the-clock while on-call to coordinate with operators and make necessary regulatory reporting. Participates in the Incident Management Team in the event the Incident Command System is activated for oil spills or emergencies.
• Responds to regulatory notices from regulators.
• Supports the Drilling & Workover Group in regulatory permitting for well work-overs, new drills, and well abandonments.
• Assists with completion of permit applications and is responsible for maintaining tracking sheets /data entries that chart status of pending applications.
• Oversees compliance with Baldwin Hills Community Services District regulations; reports to and attends Community Advisory Panel meetings; acts as “ombudsperson” in response to inquiries regarding oilfield operations; manages facility websites.
• Maintains updated regulatory permit binders that are distributed to the operations personnel and contractors in the field; conducts annual awareness training of all field personnel.
• Sustains rapport with agencies, Sentinel Peak Resources’ corporate office, and field locations.
• Support Director with other regulatory/environmental work as assigned and with various administrative duties as assigned.
• Any and all other duties as requested by management and EH&S staff.

• Associates degree/technical certification preferred or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
• Possess a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to comprehend and apply federal, state and local occupational safety and environmental requirements to our worksites.
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive and effective working relationship with community stakeholders, company and contract personnel from other Departments.
• Demonstrated strong writing skills, the ability to prepare concise reports, both hand-written and computer generated, and maintain required records.
• Proficiency using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines and to maintain flexibility in prioritizing work responsibilities.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial EH&S or an oil & gas related job preferred.
