At tronc, we believe in fostering growth, learning new skills, and making sure every team member feels valued.Acts as advisor to employees, supervisors, and other external customers regarding company policies and HR guidelinesServes as a liaison between other departments (i.e. payroll, benefits etc.) to answer employee and management questions.Act as a first point of contact for clients and HR Los Angeles Times team on employee policies and HR guidelinesServes as a main point of contact for new employees as they move through the onboarding process up to and including I:9 verification, first:day activities and badge requestsRun and creates HR reports as needed for both internal HR as well as FinanceHandles unemployment claims for all CA locations and works closely with management/HR partner to complete.Assist HR team with preparing employee file requests, verification of employment letters and subpoena requests.Assist HR team with reviewing open positions and headcount analysisLead Exit Interview and off:boarding conversationsAssists Talent and Organizational Development team with new employee orientationResponsible for processing and uploading employee file documents to HRIS system, WorkdayAbility to identify process improvement opportunities in day to day HR related processes and practicesPost all mandatory HR posters (i.e. Workers compensation, federal law posters, benefits open enrollment, and others)Apply in:depth knowledge of key HR systems (e.g., Workday, Talentwise, TALX/Equifax, iCIMS) to accurately address and respond to inquiries and deliver communication materials or supportOther duties as assignedRequires a customer focus and service attitude towards internal clientsBachelorA?s degree preferredPrevious Human Resources experience preferredPrevious experience with Workday/iCIMs (any applicant tracking system) is preferredSome knowledge of employment, wage and hour, FMLA, ADA and EEO lawsAbility to handle confidential information appropriately and take initiative to solve problems, maintain/improve processes, get answers to questions and maintain confidence in dealing with a variety of different parties.
