EveryBusiness HR Essentials, Inc. is leading the recruitment efforts for an HR Manager for our client, SPIRITT Family Services.

Job Summary:
SPIRITT Family Services currently has 88 employees across 4 locations in Eastern Los Angeles County, with the main administrative office located in Whittier.

This position is ideal for a strong generalist seeking an opportunity to transition to a role as HR Manager. SPIRITT is growing and looking for someone with a passion for making a difference. He or she will support multiple locations and will be responsible for collaborating with the administrative leaders to implement initiatives across the agency. He or she will be hands-on in the areas of employee relations, HR technology, culture and engagement, employee development, payroll, performance management, compensation and benefits and all things HR.

The ideal candidate will be excited to contribute to the success of the company with their experience in spearheading HR programs. This position will report to the Director of Finance & Administration.

Key Objectives (in the first 12 months):
Proactively identify ways to streamline, develop and implement new or existing processes, policies and HR effectiveness.
Develop trusting and strong relationships with the business leaders.
Learn the company culture, values, and challenges, and identify ways to improve.
Assess the HR needs and translate into a prioritized action plan identifying resources needed, timeline, and deliverables.

You will be expected to:
Serve as a credible and trusted partner throughout the organization on all people-related matters in a multi-site and multi-programs environment.
Recruit, interview, and select candidates and/or make recommendations to fill all open positions.
Source, recommend, and implement contracts and relationships with all HR related external vendors.
Plan and conduct new employee orientations.
Manage HR programs and policies in alignment with government contracts, agency mission and HR objectives.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor employment laws.
Serve as benefit, compensation and payroll administrator to include, but not limited to, processing all payroll and benefits transactions, conducting wage surveys to determine market competitive wage rates, and managing open enrollment.
Identify, measure, and deliver basic HR metrics to the leadership team to support organizational objectives.
Manage the employment termination process to include, but not limited to, preparing associated documentation, final check, and conducting exit interview to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Represent the organization at employment related hearings and investigations.
Oversee agency-wide safety to include investigating accidents and preparing reports for the insurance carrier.
Perform other duties as assigned.

3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
At least 3 years of experience utilizing an HRIS system, such as ADP Workforce Now.
Experience in a variety of human resources functions including payroll, employee relations, talent acquisition, and compensation and benefits.
Strong working knowledge of safety, federal and state employment laws.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable facilitating presentations to large and diverse groups.
Travel between SPIRITT’s Family Centers.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in HR for non-profits.
Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
Professional certifications (HRCI or SHRM)
Knowledge of ADP.

Minimum: $50,000.00
Maximum: $60,000.00
