Department: Stewarding Status: Exempt

Position: Stewarding Manager

PLACE OF WORK: Stewarding, Banquets, Kitchen, and Dining Services.

JOB OVERVIEW: Supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned Stewarding Staff, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the Hotel and R.C. Standards, while working within the budgeted guidelines. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests. Provides support, training, direction, and focus, helps staff members have continuous success. Develop understanding of stewarding processes.

REPORTS TO: F and B Director and Assistant F and B, Executive Chef.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Stewarding staff, restaurant staff, kitchen staff, banquet staff, room service staff, lobby lounge staff.

External: Hotel guests/visitors, designated service company personnel and vendors.

STANDARD

SPECIFICATIONS: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other employees or guests.

Qualifications:

Essential:

:1) High School Graduate, some college.
:2) Ability to communicate in English to the understanding of employees and guests.
:3) Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
:4) Ability to provide legible communication.
:5) Ability to do basic arithmetic.

Desirable:

:1) College Degree.
:2) Previous Management Experience or Member of SDWT.
:3) Knowledge of computers.
:4) Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish or Creole.
:5) Knowledge of local attractions, services and suppliers/vendors.
:6) Certification in alcohol awareness program and sanitation.
:7) CPR Certification.
