PIH Health Physicians, part of nonprofit PIH Health, is comprised of a medical group and independent practice association (IPA) network with more than 170 primary care physicians and more than 200 specialists. About the Opportunity:

Interpreting and performing thyroid ultrasounds and ultrasound guided thyroid fine needle biopsies. Endocrine simulation testing.

Endocrine disease management and prevention. Diagnoses related to diabetes, thyroid, parathyroid, osteoporosis, adrenal, pituitary disorders and other disorders related to specialty. Develop a course of treatment and manage patients with obesity and metabolic syndromes. Consult for endocrine assessments within 24 hours of requests.

Successful candidates will be well-trained and board-certified (or pending if new graduate). We are looking for motivated team players who want to work in state-of the-art facilities with other well-trained physicians and advanced practice professionals. Required Skills

SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED:

Demonstrated expertise in endocrine diagnoses: assessment, intervention, and patient care management. Knowledgeable regarding an Endocrinology Physician scope of practice.
Experience performing and interpreting thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound guided thyroid fine needle biopsies.
Demonstrated experience with obesity and metabolic syndrome in a clinic setting preferred.
Preferred training in endocrine stimulation testing of at least 10-12 a year.
Ability to consult for endocrine assessment of 10+ patients within 24 hours of requests.
Fellow or certification from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities.
Independent performer.

COMMUNICATION:

Talking or hearing essential to communicate with patients and staff.
Good communication skills; read, speaks and writes English fluently.
Bilingual skills in Spanish a plus.
Required Experience

About You:

To be successful in this position, you’ll need to have the following:

Current California Medical license.
Graduate from an accredited Medical School.
Graduate form an accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
Graduate from an accredited Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship program.
Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements.
Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Subspecialty Certification from the American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism: Board certified or board eligible.
