SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Systems Department (NSD) provides engineering services and solutions in various networking areas using performance analysis, modeling and simulation, and emulation techniques.

:Participate in network architecture tradeoff, requirement development, and technical exchange meetings and design review with customer and contractor(s) to resolve issues
:Support internal research and development (IR and D) project
:Provide systems engineering support in space communication architectures and ground network systems
:Analyze network issues using modeling and simulation
:Network design and performance analysis in various areas: Routing and multicast, Quality of Service (QoS) and Traffic Engineering, Network management and security, and Software Defined Networking (SDN) and cloud technologies
:Provide recommendations on network architectures and solutions based on technical design trades and performance analyses 13;
:B.S. in computer science or electrical engineering is required.
:Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
:Strong technical background in satellite and ground networks and systems engineering
:Experience with network performance analysis and evaluation and various network protocols related to routing, multicast, Quality of Service (QoS), Traffic Engineering and network security
:Network modeling and simulation experience (i.e., OPNET) for preparation of reports and briefings
:Experience with network architecture design, protocol design, and development of network requirements
:Experience with network management systems and network security
:Microsoft Office computer skills
:Excellent written and oral communication skills
:Ability to work individually or in team
:Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
:Current DoD SECRET clearance is required.
:Advanced degree preferred
:Experience using and operating network testbeds
:Experience with troubleshooting operational network systems
:Hands:on experience with integration and configuration of networking software and equipment
:Experience in satellite terminal development and tests
:Experience in Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF), Transformational Satellite System (TSAT) and Protected Tactical Satellite (PTS) systems
:Understanding of protected communication waveforms such as XDR, XDR+, and Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW)
:TS/SCI clearance preferred 13;
