Are you ready to launch your career?Our CompanyThe Aerospace Corporation provides independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to national security space (NSS) programs and other customers. We operate a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the United States Air Force's Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). We also apply our more than 55 years of space systems experience to projects in the national interest for civil agencies like NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, commercial companies, universities, and international organizations.ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging and other supplies necessary for the operation of the organization. The Procurement Staff IV compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives, monitors performance of suppliers, compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. The position also evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions, negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliersÂ’ operations to determine factors that affect prices, reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.Primary duties include:Purchase of supplies, software licenses and upgrades, equipment and various services to support customer requirements.Strategizing and developing policies and procedures for procurement processes.Investigating and developing sources of supplies. Selecting vendors to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date.Process of purchasing transactions according to state and federal statutes and accounting policies and procedures.Generating requests for proposals to suppliers. Ensuring all information is contained in RFP. Reviewing proposals for completeness.Resolving all accounting and shipping and receiving issues with internal customers and vendors.Working with export control and customs on foreign orders.Negotiating pricing, deliveries, and other terms and conditions.May assign and review the work of others. Trains other personnel on procurement process.QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree and ten (10) or more years of relevant experienceProcurement experience under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)Knowledge of procurement practices and proceduresMust be customer-service oriented and work well in a team environmentMust be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks and projectsStrong organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one timeEffective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations.
