Production Attendant (Graveyard) Job: ProductionPrimary Location: South Gate, CaliforniaOther Locations: Employment Status: Full-TimeTravel:  Job OutputPerform various assignments as directed. The purpose of the Production Attendant is to rotate to various jobs within the Tile Line as needed to provide backup assistance or coverage of other operators during needed or voluntary absences, such as meetings, training, vacation and other similar times when an operator must be moved to work in another area of the plant. The Production Attendant when not needed to fulfill a specific job will be assigned to perform various tasks. Examples of these task include, but are not limited to the following: cleaning floors and other areas using a broom and shovel along with simple hand tools, transporting trash weighing approximately 150 lbs., opening scrap cartons and placing tile onto conveyor (approximately 35 lbs. or 65 lbs. each), relabeling cartons, observing blanket, painting equipment, cleaning mixers, or driving a fork truck to move materials. The Production Attendant will work on shifts as required; be able to work with others in a team environment. Train on and learn all non-leadership production jobs as required or requested. Use basic math and computer skills as necessary. Communicate clearly and effectively (includes reading and writing) in English. Operate in a safe manner wearing the required safety equipment. Obtain necessary training and work as to comply with the code of Safe Work Practices as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Continuously work towards improving all of the processes associated with the job. Maintain a clean work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Fill-in for other tile line operators as needed (approximately 75% of daily work)Monitor equipment which includes monitoring gauges, operation of controls, visual inspections, make adjustments, call in assistance, clear jams, maintain cleanliness of equipment.Inspect tile product visually for defect, measure and document to quality specifications to ensure compliance, record results, place bad tile or scrap onto scrap conveyor or into bin, documentation/recordkeeping (computer and handwritten)Transfer materials manually or using mobile equipment. Raw materials measurement and placement: maintain levels of raw materials, place materials into appropriate bins, set scales.General Cleaning: Sweep, general pick-up around work area, clean up jammed tile; remove paper from bad tile to prepare for recycling, blow down equipment, trash removal, painting equipmentTile Rework/Scrap: Relabel cartons, open boxes of tile and place tile on scrap conveyor, remove paper from back side of scrap tile, stick to another tile, place on scrap conveyor, manually transfer boxes between pallets (weight of box of tile is approximately 35lbs to 65lbs)Forklift Operation (2% to 12%)Participate in safety training and receive instruction through hands-on demonstration and/or classroom lecture, as required (approximately 4% of weekly work)Maintain a clean work area (approximately 6% of daily work)Non-Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTile Rework/Scrap Supervisory ResponsibilitiesUnsafe acts or conditions or problems are reported to the Leader and Supervisor. Quality issues, damage or shortages are reported to the proper production operators.
