SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
:The Communication Electronics Department provides expertise in microwave /RF communication electronics to the Air Force, other Department of Defense organizations, and select civilian agencies supporting the national security space enterprise.
:In this role as a microwave engineer, you will participate in the development, analysis and evaluation of advanced space and ground:based microwave and millimeter:wave payload systems. Your hardware development, test, and analysis efforts will impact high:technology RF areas such as GaN power device and amplifiers, cubesat advanced technologies, drone systems, wideband microwave systems, advanced measurement techniques, and high:power RF. Your efforts will help ensure the success of our nations military and reconnaissance programs and define their long:term communication technology roadmaps. There will be opportunities to participate and lead research and development projects in these areas.
:Develop advanced cubesat payloads, amplifiers, transmitters and receivers and perform microwave hardware:based laboratory measurements required to evaluate performance
:Perform budget, circuit and full:wave simulations of microwave components, and systems
:Develop microwave measurement techniques
:Work as an individual or as a team member on analytical and experimental studies to solve microwave hardware problems
:Document work products in briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues
:Interface with Aerospace internal and external customers, and external contractors for exchange of technical information.
:Candidate will work on a diverse set of projects. It is very important to be hands on, willing to learn and be comfortable in working in an environment with engineers of diverse backgrounds and expertise. 13;
:B.S. EE with 5 years of experience and emphasis on microwave and/or millimeter:wave analysis/simulation, hardware, and measurements.
:Proficiency in ADS or Microwave Office, HFSS or CST, MATLAB, and instrument control
:Strong experience base in hardware, measurement technology, and analysis
:High motivation with proficiency to learn and carry out tasks with guidance/leadership of experienced staff
:Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
:Willingness to work as a team member
:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
:M.S. or Ph.D. in EE strongly preferred
:Experience with RF circuit layout principles
:Experience with RF systems performance budgets
:Some experience with FPGA/mixed:signal systems is a plus
:Some experience with high:power RF measurements is a plus
