Responsibilities 13;
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to help develop and specify the next generation of highly available and continuously operating systems of national significance. You should have a passion for service delivery, and how to develop software and systems engineering solutions to deliver it. You dont need to wear a pager.
This position is located in El Segundo : CA

:Research and develop tools and techniques on cloud infrastructures to:
:Enable clustering and robust self healing services
:Automate provisioning and deployment of complex satellite control systems
:Monitor services and resources
:Develop testing and data analysis tools to assess performance and reliability
:Analyze log data to improve service performance and stability
:Enable elastic and highly dependable and available database management and processing (both SQL and NoSQL)
:Define and specify monitoring and metrics to be built into the applications going to production
:Investigate failures, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
:Evaluate designs and architectures and oversee development of large Government civil and defense programs
:Present and document findings, results, and recommendations to senior project and executive managements 13;
Qualifications 13;
This position can be filled at a grade 2 or grade 3:

:A bachelors degree in computer science, cyber or computer engineering, or electrical engineering with software development experience
:The ability to obtain a security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Level 2 : Site Reliability Engineer
:8 or more years of progressively responsible and relevant experience.
:Operations experience in at least one major cloud computing environment (AWS, Openstack, Azure, GCP, VMWare) including provisioning, deployment, orchestration, storage backup and recovery, clustering, load balancing, monitoring, and metering, and cybersecurity defenses and monitoring solutions
:Knowledge of high availability and fault tolerant services and configurations in cloud datacenters.
:Skills in Python, Ruby, or equivalent languages for systems automation/reporting
:Experience with database deployment, monitoring, recovery, and performance tuning (SQL and NoSQL) a plus
:Experience in monitoring and failure recovery of application servers
:Experience in cloud:based testing techniques a plus
:Familiarity with design/implementation, and support of one or more big data platforms. Cassandra/Hadoop/HBASE experience a plus
:Capability in R and Matlab a plus
:Experience in log data reduction and analysis a plus
:Good oral and written communication skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Level 3 : Senior Site Reliability Engineer
:12 or more years of progressively responsible, relevant experience
:A graduate degree in a relevant area
:Extensive experience in modeling and assessing the reliability, availability, and maintainability of software
:Demonstrated experience in assessing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in software
:Experience in applying advanced statistical, data mining, and text:mining methodologies to very large structured
