Responsibilities 13;
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for preparing conceptual designs for construction projects at THE Aerospace Corporation. The candidate will direct, design and engineering consultants. Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the companys values of Dedication to Mission Success, Technical Excellence, Commitment to Our People, Integrity and Objectivity.

KEY FUNCTIONS
:Prepares design and engineering SOWs for obtaining proposals from outside designers and engineers.
:Reviews drawings and specifications for conformance with company standards and code requirements.
:Coordinates city plan check and permit process.
:Develops concenptual design and space planning drawings, construction documents and specifications in compliance with applicable codes and local regulations based on customer needs.
:Works with city building officials to process plans through plan check, as well as interface with contractors during construction phase of the projects.
:Coordinates and reviews the work of architectural and engineering consultants.
:Assists in the selection process of outside design consultants and interface on a daily basis with customers regarding project status, project requirements, project approval and coordination with other departments. 13;

Required for Level 3
:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
:6 or more years of relevant experience
:Proficient ability to use CAD software such AutoCAD
:Ability to research, prepare and give presentations of training materials to large groups of staff
:Mechanical Engineering License
:Proficient knowledge of construction Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimating
:Must be a US Citizen
:This role requires a Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Required For Level 4
:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
:10 or more years of relevant experience
:Proficient ability to use CAD software such AutoCAD
:Ability to research, prepare and give presentations of training materials to large groups of staff
:Mechanical Engineering License
:Proficient knowledge of construction Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimating
:Must be a US Citizen
:This role requires a Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred
:Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus
:Certificate : IFMA Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) preferred
:Basic knowledge of BIM software such as Revit
:Advanced understanding of Mechanical life:safety codes
:Advanced understanding of construction means, methods and materials
:Advanced understanding of construction engineering best practices
:Advanced ability to use MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat/Blue Beam 13;
