Lead and manage business development, capture, and execution for an emerging line of business focusing on assisting the government in the integration of advanced technologies into ground transportation architectures, including semi:autonomous, autonomous and connected passenger and freight vehicles and associated intelligent transportation systems and infrastructures. Focus is on integration of enabling technologies, interoperability with legacy vehicles and infrastructure, and transition to autonomous, intelligent vehicle systems and architectures of the future.
Federal Civil and Homeland Security Directorate, within the Civil Systems Group, manages the Aerospace Corporations Support to Federal Civil Agencies that address grand challenges in energy, nuclear security, homeland security, transportation, and critical infrastructure.
Be the Federal Civil and Homeland Security Directorate Program Office lead for Department of Transportation customers. Provide technical and managerial leadership for all work, guidance and direction to direct reports, and coordination with subject matter experts and engineering support across interdisciplinary and geographically distributed technical teams.
Lead and manage business development, capture, proposal development strategy, developing and engaging business development and technical teams to develop and deploy technical solutions to address transportation infrastructure challenges.
Lead and manage technical execution teams, shape and guide products, review and ensure quality deliverables.
Support the development of corporate capabilities into transportation service line offerings.
Assist in strategic planning and establishing external strategic relationships with potential partners, customers, and collaborators.
Work with the customers and Aerospace technical organizations to establish technical support teams and structures, and a customer service:oriented support culture
Apply sound business management practices in developing scope, cost, schedule, resource plans for new and on:going support efforts.
Establish and maintain key strategic relationships with DOT customers and DOT prime contractor customers.
Represent the organization and internal meetings and externally at customer venues.
Liaison with joint agency task forces, government organizations and academic institutions.
BS in Engineering, information technology, physics, or other technical discipline required Advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 12 years relevant experience that includes program office and technical management leadership.
Experience with federal transportation agencies, with the emphasis at the federal level, specifically with DOT OST, FHWA, NHTSA, FTA, and RITA, and these organizations prime contractors.
Demonstrated experience in hiring, developing and managing staff.
