The Design & Construction Project Manager has the responsibility of managing and assisting with the overall implementation of the capital projects in a timely and cost effective manner, consistent with the mission and values of CHLA. Responsibilities include activities associated with assessing space and or project requests for recommended options. Under the direction of the Director Design and Construction Management, this individual will assist with the development of schedules of project milestone; develop scopes and work plans; coordinate internal and external resources; and monitor progress. Additionally, this position is responsible for building effective relationships with team members and facilitating team processes in order to meet project goals. The Design & Construction Project Manager will actively participate in analyzing data and developing recommendations and action plans. This position requires a close working relationship with Design, Construction and Health Care professionals on a daily basis.

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Engineering or other related Engineering/Technical fields.

Minimum Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience; project management experience in health care preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to read and comprehend blue prints at a level used in construction. Familiarity with hospital construction and renovation is required. Working knowledge of building codes and approved OSHA standards. Title 22 & 24 building codes, OSHPD, City agency permits, OSHA. Able to reconfigure or create new space plan options, Architectural program software. Demonstrated ability to determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multi disciplinary perspectives. Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications including Excel, Access and Word. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Effective leadership, project management, and consulting skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Budget development and oversight experience
