Responsibilities 13;
Aerospace is currently accepting applications for a Project Engineer (Electrical Systems) position supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Directorate. The selected candidate will work with a combined team of government, private contractor, FFRDC/UARC, and SETA personnel performing programmatic, engineering design and development, electrical power and distribution testing, system production and fielding of target missiles used to exercise the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Frequent interaction with other MDA Directorate personnel, contractors, subcontractors, and vendor personnel is expected. Works independently with both internal and external customers and with technical support, as a technical authority, consultant, primary investigator, or project leader. May lead or organize technical efforts or project teams. Interfaces between customers and Aerospace technical and management staff. May mentor less experienced MTS and serve as role model.

The selected candidate will exhibit a high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiative. They will possess strong verbal and written communication skills. They will also demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers.

This position can be filled as a Level 2: Electrical Systems Project Engineer or as a Level 3: Sr. Electrical Systems Project Engineer.

This position can be located in El Segundo, CA OR Huntsville, AL.

Key Functions
:Directly work with government programs to identify design, production, test, and fielding issues that Aerospace can assist in identifying risk and developing feasible and timely mitigation efforts.
:Coordinate Aerospace Engineering Technology Group to provide technical advisory services to the Missile Defense Agency Targets and Countermeasures Directorate.
:Coordinate the development, approval, and delivery of Aerospace technical reviews and reports associated with tasks assigned by MDA.
:Coordinate and provide robust systems engineering and mission assurance support throughout target systems life cycle.
:Conduct technical analysis and review of new target systems design, development, test, production, fielding, and post flight data.
:Conduct independent reviews of target systems qualification testing protocols, technical reports, technical briefings, analysis reports, and risk assessments.
:Conduct and coordinate assessments of ballistic missile target system electrical power and distribution system (EDPS) designs and test plans.
:Conduct and coordinate assessments of ballistic missile target system electrical grounding and bonding designs and test plans.
:Develop and conduct electrical power and distribution system (EDPS) analyses of alternatives, trade studies, test plans, and margin analyses.
:Participate and provide technical advisory services during electrical system sub:system and system level integration testing.
:Participate in ballistic missile target system major milestone readiness assessments.
:Participate in ballistic missile target risk, system failure, engineering change, manufacturing, configuration, and qualification review boards. 13;
