As a singer/guitarist/bassist/songwriter, Chris Ryan has worked or collaborated with Grammy-award winning songwriter Itaal Shur, Grammy-award winning engineer/producer David Bianco, Nikka Costa, Scott Hardkiss, Lyle Workman, Davey Farragher, Lucy Woodward, Lisa Shaw, DJ Swingsett, The Neighborhood Bullies, Coolys Hot Box, Dennis Davis (David Bowie), Courtney Williams (Run DMC), Ticklah, Raw Deluxe, Mark Anthony Jones, Brian Delaney (NY Dolls), Jeff Allen (Five for Fighting), William Rottman (Lenny Kravitz) and many many more.

Chris Ryan’s last record, the David Bianco-produced “Blackout Money,” topped many Village Voice Pazz and Jop Polls in 2005, in one case placing higher than The Beatles. The Village Voice wrote prodigiously about the record including calling the single “East Coast Liner” “…one of the three best hard rock songs” in 2004.

Both “East Coast Liner” as well as the album’s second single, “Deny It,” won Ryan an Honorable Mention in the 13th Annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest. “Deny It” was also featured on Jonathan Clarke’s “Out Of The Box” radio program on Q104.3.

In April 2009 Ryan traveled to LA to write a song and work in the studio on a collaboration between LA’s Neighborhood Bullies and deep-house star Lisa Shaw.
