We’re a group of guys with a passion for Filipino food who realized a long time ago that nothing transports a Filipino back to the motherland faster than his tastebuds (no offense to airplanes).

Our tapsilog is the perfect gateway into Filipino food. It’s a simple dish traditionally served for breakfast that fulfills our basic requirements for comfort food: protein, carbs, and a taste so familiar you almost want to hug it. It also packs more flavor than Manny Pacquiao’s left hook and we serve it all day in a Giant Jeepney.

Tapa Boy is here to introduce silogs to the American mainstream, proud and authentic, and we know you will love it. We’ve cajoled, bribed, and threatened our aunts and grandmothers for their secret recipes, so we actually have no choice but to unleash them. This is tapa as Filipinos know it: A staple on almost every street corner, where inebriated night owls seeking a quick flavor bomb to sharpen dulled senses dive into their plates and only come up for air. This is tocino as it should be served: Caramelized, tender chunks of pork, complete with a special vinegar sauce to confuse and amuse your tongue. This is unapologetic longganisa: Loved and feared for its ability to make its presence in your system known to everyone within 10 feet.

We believe that you can give a Filipino a taste of home and he’ll be able to close his eyes and hear the jeepneys fly by. That’s what these fellas from Los Angeles with strong roots in the Philippines set out to do, and much like its namesake, their Giant Jeepney sure does deliver.
